1. Before work begins
Syn-Teck confirms the need, service method, applicable rate and, where appropriate, an estimate before starting. A request sent through the site is not authorization to change a device or account.
2. Client authorization and control
You remain in control of your devices, accounts and data. You must be authorized to request the work. Syn-Teck explains important actions before taking them and may pause work when authorization, information or a security condition is missing.
3. Remote access
Remote access is used only with your agreement and for the agreed need. You can observe the session, ask questions and end it. Syn-Teck will never ask for a password, multi-factor authentication code, PIN or banking information through the public form.
4. Confidentiality and data
Information and files accessed during service are treated confidentially and only to the extent needed to provide the service. Syn-Teck does not sell personal information. Collection and handling of information submitted through the site are described in our Privacy Policy.
5. Backups and technical risk
Before a significant repair, reinstallation or change that may affect data, Syn-Teck recommends a backup. Where possible, known options and risks are explained before action is taken. A backup reduces risk but cannot guarantee recovery of all data in every situation.
6. Clear, traceable payment
The rate, any applicable minimum, possible travel fees and foreseeable costs are communicated before work begins. The initial diagnostic step and estimate are free. Remote support is $65/hour, with a 30-minute minimum of $35; on-site service is $85/hour, with a one-hour minimum. Any travel fee is confirmed before the appointment. Syn-Teck prefers an official invoice or payment request so both parties have a record of the amount, service and payment.
- 24/7 availability: requests are received at any time. An accepted emergency between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m., or on a statutory holiday, has a $40 surcharge confirmed before work begins.
- Smaller service calls: payment is normally requested after the service is completed, unless a different arrangement is confirmed with the client.
- Larger or extended work: a quote or written agreement is confirmed before work begins. A deposit or advance payment may be requested to reserve service time, begin a project or cover a clearly identified part of the engagement.
- Parts, licences, subscriptions and purchases: they must be authorized by the client and paid before Syn-Teck places the order. No purchase is made without your approval.
- Unexpected costs: if an additional cost becomes necessary, Syn-Teck will explain it and obtain your agreement before continuing, unless you have expressly authorized an urgent measure.
7. Results, follow-up and limits
Syn-Teck aims for a careful resolution and verifies the result with you when possible. Some issues depend on a supplier, failing device, third-party account, licence or factor beyond Syn-Teck's control, so immediate resolution cannot always be guaranteed. The detailed terms of an engagement or quote govern that work.
8. Privacy incident
If Syn-Teck believes that an incident affects personal information it holds, we assess the situation, take reasonable steps to reduce risk and follow applicable obligations, including required notices. You can report a concern at info@syn-teck.ca.
9. Questions or concerns
If a proposed action, cost or step does not suit you, tell us before the work or as soon as possible. We will seek clarification or a reasonable solution. For general website terms, see the Terms of Use.
10. Important
This page is a plain-language explanation of our service practices. It is not legal advice and does not, by itself, create a contract for a specific engagement.
